Established as the first fully integrated facility of Turkey under the title of ‘Pamuklu Mensucat’ (Cotton Textile) in 1958, Menderes Textile has become one of the export giants of Turkey with its visionary management, continuous investment and the powerful team work from production to sales for 59 years. Menteres Tekstil, one of the locomotive companies of Akca Holding, founded by the deceased businessman Osman Akca in 1955, produces for world brands with its production record of 80 thousand duvet sets and 600 kilometers of fabric with up to 3 meters and 20 centimeters width.

Menderes Textile, the biggest integrated home textile production facility of Europe, has a production army of 4500 people employed in 7 production facilities of Thread, Pre-Weaving, Knitting, Press-Dyeing, Lining-Interlining and Garment on 280,000 m2 of indoors area. Gungor Guler, the Environmental Safety Chief in Menderes Textile who states that the textile industry is the leading one among the most rapidly developing industries in Turkey says that: “This rapid development has caused the requirement of contaminative waste waters treatment in big debits and big concentrations.”

Telling that they carry out physical, chemical and biological waste water treatment with capacity of 12 thousands of square meters/day approximately in waste water treatment facility as an environment and nature friendly facility, Guler states that: “Belt presses and filter presses were used in the facility; however, such systems started to not meet the needs.” Stating that they can press sludge in the system within the shortest time period thanks to the decanters, Guler expresses that “You should decrease the amount obtained as the result of the pressing as the input amount increases. You can turn a waterier sludge mass to a smaller volume by means of a decanter. Therefore, we preferred to say goodbye to the belt presses and continue with a decanter by which we could get more efficiency in a short time.”

Stating that they carried out intense researches after they had decided to use decanter, Guler says that “Numerous firms made proposals for us. But the most suitable one in terms of all aspects was Polat Makina. Guler continues his words that: “After we made our choice and started operations, we saw that we made the right choice.
