The 2026 Vision for Olive Oil Production: Digital and Green Transformation with Polat Makina

In this article, we explore Polat Makina's journey from industrial data management to food safety, from eco-friendly energy conversion to its leading position in the global market.

Turkey's position as the third largest olive producer in the world after Italy and Spain proves how critical every strategic step in the sector is on a global scale. At Polat Makina, we are strengthening our position in this large and competitive market by channeling a significant portion of our production capacity to international markets. Although 2026 is expected to be a more cautious year for the global economy, we continue to make a difference with our solution-oriented approach during periods when investment appetite becomes clearer. Financial incentives, such as European Union grants, TKDK and KKYDP support, continue to be a strategic source of motivation for our producers to acquire modern, world-class facilities.

Our technology and efficiency-focused solutions, which are at the heart of our production philosophy, go beyond traditional methods and are based on digitalization. Thanks to the I/O modules we use in our systems, we ensure uninterrupted data flow from our machines in the field and store this valuable data in our cloud system with high security standards. This model greatly facilitates external access while allowing us to analyze the performance data of our machines in real time and achieve operational excellence. It should be noted that this structure is designed as a highly efficient data management model and represents the digital backbone of our technological infrastructure.

Our quality and sustainability standards are shaped not only by technology but also by our respect for the environment and people. As part of our green transformation initiative, we have completely phased out the solid fuel boiler systems previously used in our olive oil production lines. We now provide the necessary heat for our lines using modern, environmentally friendly systems that convert electrical energy entirely into hot water. We combine this innovative step with hygienic materials that eliminate the risk of corrosion and high CE standards, fully compliant with food machinery regulations, under the umbrella of “green transformation.”

Our consistent achievements, despite challenging market conditions and sectoral cyclicality, strengthen our vision for the future every day. We have successfully completed the installation of numerous production lines worldwide, maintaining our high market share even during periods of limited raw material supply in the sector. Our machines in strategic markets such as Italy, Tunisia, Morocco, Greece, and Algeria are the most concrete references of our global reach. The high demand for our S920, S840, and S650 wastewater treatment units and innovative container projects encourages us to strengthen our position in critical regions such as North Africa. As Polat Makina, we are taking decisive strategic steps to increase our presence in the global market and maintain and develop our position as the world's third-largest player.
